How to navigate ScrollGigs

Where everything lives, what each screen is for, and the two things that confuse people most on their first visit.

MAPJOB SEARCH

Key takeaways

  • Discover, My Jobs and Opportunities are views of one screen, not separate pages.
  • Every destination has one name - the sidebar and the bottom bar now agree.
  • Research tools sit under Research; the extension fills applications elsewhere.

The one thing that confuses everyone

Discover, My Jobs and Opportunities are three views of the same screen rather than three separate pages. Switching between them changes what the screen shows without navigating anywhere new, which is why your browser back button may not behave the way you expect.

If you have ever felt you lost your place, this is usually why. Use the bottom bar on mobile, or the sidebar on desktop, to move between them rather than the back button.

Finding work

Discover is the swipe feed. Swipe right to apply, left to save for later, and up to Stand Out on roles posted directly to ScrollGigs. Long-press dismisses a role permanently.

My Jobs holds everything you saved or applied to, split across Saved and Applied tabs. The Applied tab is a board you can drag cards through as you progress.

Opportunities is where mutual matches appear - roles where the employer has also shown interest. From there you can message them directly.

Job categories and Alerts are for narrowing things down: browse by role type, or get told when something matching your criteria appears.

Research, before you apply

Salaries shows real bands taken from live listings that disclose pay, not self-reported guesses.

Companies collects reviews and hiring signals. Market covers wider trends. Community is where people share what interviews and offers were actually like.

Scam checker and Offer check are one-off tools: paste a suspicious listing or a real offer and get an assessment. Scam Shield also runs automatically on every role in the feed.

The browser extension

The extension fills applications on Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby and SmartRecruiters using the profile you keep here, then records the application in My Jobs automatically.

It never submits anything for you. It fills the fields, you check them and press submit yourself.

If you are hiring

The employer side has its own navigation. Dashboard is the overview, Jobs is where you post and pause roles, Candidates is everyone awaiting a decision, and Shortlist is people you have matched with.

Discover on the employer side is the reverse of the candidate feed: profiles ranked against a specific role you have posted.
